Costs - Paying for your case

There are a number of ways in which the cost of pursuing your claim can be met, including:

  • Private payment of our fees
  • Funding from insurers
  • Funding from the Equality and Human Rights Commission

If you are paying privately for us to pursue or defend a claim on your behalf, we will provide you with an estimate of the cost at the outset, along with an indication of our hourly charge. Our rates are competitive and compare favourably with many larger practices.

You may be entitled to pursue the claim under a legal expenses policy. A substantial number of home contents and other insurance policies carry legal expenses insurance. We regularly pursue claims on behalf of legal expenses insurers. We can help you to establish whether you have cover.

We have been appointed by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (and its predecessors the Equal Opportunities Commission, Commission for Racial Equality and Disability Rights Commission) in order to pursue a number of discrimination claims. If you are an individual pursuing a claim and your case raises an important issue of discrimination law, we may be able to obtain funding from the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
